How do i find out the date out an antique jewerly box?
I bought an antique jewerly box yesterday. It has brass inlays on mahogany, and the design on the front is a brass lotus. The mirror on the inside is deteriorated and heavily weather, but it’s painted on and glass was put in front of it. I assume that it’s a antique by the unique mirror. Any guess?
You might also ask someone who specializes in antiques. If you know the period – at least roughly – it shouldn’t be too difficult. Is there an auction house where you live? Or a university? As I’ve said in another answer… Historians can be quite helpful.
